Love All for Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club Thanks to Sponsorship from Churchill Retirement Living

Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club is celebrating this week thanks to a £1200 sponsorship deal with Churchill Retirement Living.

The retirement developer who is building at Steeple Lodge in Boldmere, close to the tennis club, has sponsored the over 50s coaching sessions which run every Tuesday morning from 9 - 10 am.

Churchill’s donation will help fund additional practise and coaching sessions and help the club encourage more over 50s into the sport.

Head coach, Chris Johnson explains: “We’re extremely grateful to Churchill Retirement Living for coming on board and sponsoring our over 50s coaching sessions.  This investment will give us a much needed boost and help us to build awareness of tennis and its benefits to a wider audience.

“Tennis is a fantastic sport for older people to enjoy as you can easily adapt the intensity levels to suit your capabilities.  It’s also a very sociable sport which can be played as couples or singles.”

Alan Perry, Regional Managing Director for Churchill Retirement Living added: “We are always committed to investing in the communities in which we build. We met with Sutton Coldfield Tennis Club as part of our work with the local community and were very impressed with the hard work and dedication of the team.

“Many of our Owners enjoy a very active retirement so we were delighted to be able to support the over 50s coaching sessions which hopefully will encourage more people to get involved. Chris and his team recently came down to Steeple Lodge to talk to the Owners about tennis and how to get involved.  The event was a great success and I’m sure some of them will be heading down to check out the coaching sessions soon.”
